Oops

I know, it's been a week since I've updated this, but I haven't done anything really blog-worthy in terms of my domestic status. I mean, I cleaned ever so lightly the house for hubby's arrival. (That was a total mess, if you're interested in hearing. Thank you, Uncle Sam, for giving me a roller-coaster ride that left my stomach in my throat.)

I baked more cookies; oatmeal raisin and chocolate chip for Gordon's trip back to Oklahoma, and for him to share with his friend who was also in GA visiting his girlfriend.

Other than that, my inner-domestic goddess has been put aside as I try to find a job, and continually strive to get into a routine. Luckily, I have started taking classes at the gym on post, which has put some semblance of order in my days, so we can hope that I'll have a job to add to my days and keep me constantly busy, like I prefer and love so much to complain about.

While the-love-of-my-life was home if ever so briefly this weekend, we began discussing the holidays (my favorite time of the year!). We're thinking possibly doing Thanksgiving here, and then maybe going to visit his family for Christmas, since we spent last year with my family. We're still working on plans, but depending on work schedules (his, and, if I get a job, mine) we may just do Christmas here, and worry about where to spend the holidays next year, when we're in Germany.

In any case, here's the request: Any delicious holiday recipes? I love making Christmas cookies, so any ideas for them? Also, Gordon doesn't do poultry, what would be a good alternative for turkey on Turkey day? (we're thinking, possibly, roast beef or something along those lines)

Thanks much!
